Peasmarsh in East Sussex Village Guide

Southenden

My grans name was Maud Southenden, she originally came from Peasmarsh. Has anyone any information about her family from around the turn of the 20th century, and before, my dads family have told me that there are smugglers in her history. She married a Charles Revell from the Sittingbourne / Faversham area. Thank you.

I have just checked the register of graves in St Peter & St Paul Parish Church Peasmarsh and there are three in the north west quadrant – however, the surname is spelt slightly differently: Southerden. Alice died aged 87 in 1969, Elizabeth (no age given) in 1824 and Thomas (no age given) in 1962. I only have access to grave information, there will be much more in the registers – but they will be in date order rather than name : ( Hope this might be of interest. Best wishes with your search.
