Rye Museum has two sites in the town: Ypres Tower and East Street which is the main site for exhibits and public events such as talks and coffee mornings. It houses changing exhibitions concerning different aspects of Rye life. The latest of these features Ryes connections to Royal Weddings.

A major exhibit features Captain Pugwash, the popular book and TV character created by Ryer John Ryan. Another favourite is Ryes Old Fire Engine built in 1745 and in use until 1865. Other popular displays include shipbuilding and fishing, education, Rye pottery and Tunbridgeware and Victorian times in Rye.

There is a great deal of information about the two museum sites, the town and the surrounding area on the Rye Museum website.

East Street is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays 10:30 to 5:00 with last entry 30 minutes before closing time. Special arrangements can be made to open during the week on application to Rye Museum.

The Rye Museum Ypres Tower is open 7 days a week from 10:30 to 5:00, with last entry 30 minutes before closing time Group visits can be arranged.
