Located in the peaceful village of Iden, just 5 minutes drive from Rye, our traditional country inn dates back, in parts, to 1107.
Local legend has it, that the original building was used as accommodation for the monks that built Iden church. It is also thought that there is a tunnel between the pub cellar and the church, although this has not been discovered, we do keep our eye out for the vicar turning up in the cellar!
Today, we serve homemade food, real ales, continental lagers, and have a superb wine list. We welcome children and dogs.
Enjoy great food in comfortable and relaxed surroundings, or stay in one of our spacious bed and breakfast rooms.
We have wonderful beer gardens for enjoying the summer, and a warm cosy snug with a wood burning fire for the wintery nights.
All of our food is home made and we are proud of using local and seasonal produce. On a Sunday we serve a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings.
Tuesday nights are fish and chip supper nights and we use home made batter made from local ale.
We are able to cater for private parties too.
