Hello Michael

It is possible, of course we should write and exchange any information we oth have. I do know my Great Grand mother's name was Katherine Dawes Saunders Adamson Procter. Her three middle names of course are from families she was related to. The Dawes were very prominent in Rye mainly solicitors, also they were a large family so it is possibe that one branch moved to London.

My e-mail address is

Speak soon,

Dave

Dave,

Perhaps a long shot but my surname is Dawes and have heard a rumour that we have links to Rye and Winchelsea. Most of the research I have done relating to the Dawes name is around Clerkenwell in London. Maybe this might be a missing link.

Hi,

My family lived in Rye for some time marrying into various families within Rye. I would be interested in any information anyone has on the kennetts, Southerdens, Coopers, Dawes Adamsons and Saunders. The Procter family lived in WestStreet, Mermaid Street and Watchbell Street. I know this is a blanket approach and I can give more details concerning dates etc if required.

Many thanks

I am researching my family who come from Rye the name is Procter they were Surgeons and posibly one was a mayor of Rye. They lived in the town during the 18th and 19th centuries. They maried into the Dawes of Iden. Knew the Ramsdens, also surgeons, Married into the southerdons of Brownhills?
Any assisence would be helpfull. I have taken the name back to one Edward Nathaniel Procter who lived in the town in the middle 1700's
