Come and meet the cats and kittens at the Celia Hammond Animal Trust (C.H.A.T.) Open Day at Greenacres, Stubb Lane, Brede, Nr Hastings'
Hosted at their operational Rehoming Centre, this fundraising event is a great family day out aimed at generating awareness of the vital rescue and rehoming work C.H.A.T. do to help unwanted, abused and feral cats and kittens.
A range of fun activities will take place on the day including tombolas, glitter tattoos and a raffle with goody bags for all children dressed up as a cat.
C.H.A.T’s knowledgeable staff will be on hand to lead informative cattery tours, enabling visitors to meet and learn about the many cats under their care including those available for rehoming. In addition, a local vet from Badgers Oak Veterinary Centre in Northiam will be hosting information talks.
Visitors can relax and enjoy tea, cake and live music within the grounds accompanied by the free-roaming permanent feline residents who may pop over to say hello! For the kitten fans, a special ‘Meet the Rescued Kittens’ section will be open where visitors can learn about the youngest residents and enjoy some cuddles too!
C.H.A.T. Centre Manager Carolyn McBeath is hoping to attract record numbers this year. “The idea of the Open Day is a fun and interactive experience for everyone while creating awareness of the important work we do and raising funds. Visitors will learn about our cause, the many ways they can help and meet our many cats and kittens ready for adoption.”
The Celia Hammond Animal Trust is a local animal welfare and rehoming charity working on the frontline to help prevent animal suffering and neglect. With no Government support, the team heavily rely on the generosity of supporters through donation, cat sponsorship and volunteering contributions. All support is gratefully received and critical to enabling C.H.A.T. staff and volunteers to continually reach out and help more vulnerable animals.
Entry on the day will be through a suggested donation of £2 per adult with all children going in free. C.H.A.T. regret that no dogs will be permitted on the day.
