If you're looking for a relaxing, comfortable break in beautiful surroundings, then The Mint could be the place for you. This holiday cottage in Rye has been sensitively refurbished to retain its original features, whilst offering every modern convenience.It is situated at the foot of Rye's most famous cobbled street in the heart of the town's historic citadel and accommodates up to 5 people in a double, twin and single bedrooms. The Mint has a cosy, light living room with wood burning fire.TV, video & CD player. The Mint has a small kitchen/diner with dishwasher, fridge, gas cooker.The bathroom has a power shower & new bath.ALL LINENS AND TOWELS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.
The Mint is a three story property at the foot of this most famous of Rye's cobbled streets. It has great charm, offers comfortable and cosy accommmodation and is centrally located within easy walking distance of all the town's main attractions. Rye is one of the famous cinque ports and combines a rich sense of history, artistic and literary tradition with all the conveniences of a modern small town. Mooching around the many specialist and craft shops is a joy in itself, but then there's the splendour of the beaches at Camber, the Ypres tower... plenty in fact, to keep you coming back for more....Camber Sands is a wide expanse of beach, perfect for a day by the sea. There are a host of activities, depending on the day you visit, including the exhilerating pastimes of sand yachting, windsurfing and kite flying. There are cafes and restaurants locally and you can also clamber around Camber Castle.There are a series of events in and around Rye throughout the year. The traditional medieaval festival with its jousting displays and historic plays is great fun and there are a number of literary festivals during the year. Rye Fawkes is also a must with spectacular fireworks and plenty of fun for the children. There are also regularly scheduled ghost tours, history tours, cycling, walking and hiking events.
Rye harbour is another great place to spend a few happy hours. There are plenty of good cafes and the chance for some nautical shopping. It's set in an official nature reserve, so it's a great place to enjoy the wildlife and particularly bird watching. Sit and enjoy a great view, peacefully watching the world go by! For the more energetic there are plenty of walks and tours, including the 1066 Country Walk.
Rye has a whole host of eateries for you to enjoy, quaint tearooms, posh pub grub, classic Italian, tasty Thai, a la carte restaurants and of course fish and chips. There are too many to list, but we've highlighted a few of our favourites to whet you appetite.....the Kings Head for steak and excellent pub grub. The Hope Anchor and Mermaid for a la carte.The george fora relaxing drink and free WIFI. The Ypres forgastro pub fare and the craic! Cobbles tea room for traditional cream teas cakes and buns.
Rye is easy to get to - about an hour from the M25. Either leave the M25 a the A21 exit, or carry on to the M20 and take the A2070.
The front door opens directly into this cosy, sunny living room. Comfortably furnished with beamed ceiling, it offers a very pleasant atmosphere to relax in.part of the cottage's charm is its elegantly restored features. A wood burning stove in the living room creates a lovely warm welcome, whilst the CD, TV and video ensure you're never short of entertainment.
The double room a comfortable, cleanly designed room with plenty of cupboard and hanging space for clothing.
