Voted TOP 50 HOTELS TO STAY IN THE UK FOR WEEKEND BREAK Independent Oct 2011

Escape to the Gallivant, Sussex's Beach House hotel, an oasis opposite the dunes of Camber and the eight miles of uninterrupted golden sand beyond. Our New England style environment exudes charm and tranquility, offering great old fashioned service as standard and beautiful coastal inspired bedrooms. The perfect base to explore 1066 country, with its countless historic houses, gardens and villages, the dramatic wilderness of Dungeness and the ancient medieval Cinque Port of Rye all on our doorstep.

The Gallivant has eighteen rooms, all designed very much with our location in mind, using a relaxing coastal colour palate, artisanal driftwood furniture, local Sussex art and some added creature comforts to make your stay more relaxing.

All our rooms feature large flat screen TVs, DVD players (with house library), free Wi-Fi, telephones, books to read, beach bags for trips to the beach, tea/coffee, homemade goodies from the kitchen and room service. All have ensuite bathrooms, with LOccitane beauty products, hair dryers and fluffy white bathrobes.

In addition to our Coastal doubles we have two Coastal deluxe rooms with king size beds and sofas to relax in and four much larger Coastal studios, with various sleeping options, some with enormous super king beds, white hard wood floors and wood paneling.

Our kitchen is headed up by Trevor Hambly who for most of his cooking career has cooked alongside Marco Pierre White in many of his London eateries. His cooking displays the love he has for using the best ingredients, always seasonal and whenever possible sourced from local suppliers that are as passionate about what they do as he is for putting smiles on customers faces.

His cooking is arguably as good as it gets in Sussex and is winning the praise of both local and national critics.

A stay at the Gallivant is always a relaxing break from the stresses and strains of modern life. A place to unwind and enjoy the enormous skies, the deserted beaches and the cocooning warmth of our hotel, its great food and impeccable service.
