Strand House won Silver in the Tourism South East Guest Accommodation of the Year.
Strand House is a luxury guesthouse in Winchelsea near Rye. Offering quiet, relaxed and calm surroundings for you to savour and enjoy. A sense of history makes Strand House a unique house to escape to, with many wonderful gardens, castles and attractions in the local area. Your hosts Mary and Hugh provide a brand of hospitality that will make a short stay feel like a holiday and a holiday like home from home. Strand House offers comfortable, elegant rooms and personal service in a historic house, where a love of food and cooking is at the heart of the house. Food is at the heart of Strand House. Ingredients are, fresh, local and cooked with skill and passion by Mary and her team. The menu changes daily depending on what the fishing boats bring into Rye Harbour or the local organic farm has in meat. Please contact us to talk about afternoon tea, dinner or supper. Feel free to call with special dietary requests.
We can help you celebrate your special events and can provide treats in your room flowers, champagne, chocolates and Teddy Bears. We offer special dinner, bed and breakfast packages and for Christmas and New Year we have a gastronomic house party offering two, three and four night packages, see our website or contact us.
Please note: During the summer season there is a 2 night minimum stay for bookings including a Saturday night and single occupancy discount only on Monday to Thursday.
We are a No-Smoking property. Pets are allowed by arrangement. We regret that the house is only suitable for grown up children. We have a 48 hour cancellation policy for all bookings.
