Kipper Cottage is within a row of attractive terraced cottages in the heart of the popular town of Rye.
As the name suggests, this cottage was originally used as a smoke house by local fisherman. It has been tastefully converted and now offers a comfortable holiday home in a great location for exploring Rye and the surrounding areas.
The cottage has an open plan living room incorporating a small fully fitted modern kitchen, a dining / lounge area with a fireplace featuring a log burning stove. A spiral staircase leads to the attractive first floor double bedroom with en-suite shower room.
The cottage is situated within a few steps of the historic Landgate in the ancient and beautiful town of Rye, with its picturesque narrow cobbled streets, own harbour and many interesting and individual antique and craft shops.
There is a varied selection of restaurants, inns and coffee houses for all tastes. For general groceries there is a supermarket, a delicatessen, butchers, greengrocers etc all within the town.
Bird lovers will want to visit the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve or the extensive habitats on the Romney Marsh. Winchelsea beach is only 3 miles away as are the golden sands at Camber. Historic Hastings and Battle can be easily be reached either by car or by public transport. Rye station is within walking distance and has a journey time to either London or Brighton in well under two hours. Folkestone (for the Channel Tunnel) and Dover are within a forty five minute drive.
