The Stormont Studio houses Rye Art Gallery's Permanent Collection of fine art. Alongside the collection it regularly offers temporary exhibitions. Amongst the Permanent Collection are paintings and prints from the 19th and 20th centuries as well as drawings, photographs, and sculpture.
The works in the Collection are of regional and national importance, and include Edward Burra and Paul Nash, who both lived in Rye. In addition there are works by Vanessa Bell, Gus Cummins RA, Jacob Epstein, Duncan Grant, Roger Hilton, Ivon Hitchens, LS Lowry, John Piper, Ceri Richards and Graham Sutherland. Among the printmakers in the collection are Sir Edward Ardizzone RA, Robert Austen, Eric Gill, Christopher Nevinson ARA, Giovanni Piranesi, Sir Frank Short PRE RA RI, and James Whistler.
Works not on show can be viewed by arrangement on application to the Gallery Manager. Entry to the Stormont Studio is free.
