Ashbee & Son has been a butcher's shop since the 1850's. The shop still has the original front with brass plates and hooks which meat was once hung from outside the shop many years ago.
The shop is in historic Rye's main High Street and is now the only butcher's shop in Rye.
Paul and Jayne Dengate have owned the shop for over 20 years and therefore know just what many of their customers are looking for.
Our staff, Andrew and Andy, have been with us for many years and know many of our customers by name.

We sell fresh English pork and beef, local lamb and fresh English chickens. We also sell pigeons, partridge, wild ducks and pheasants during the gaming season. We also sell several cheeses including locally made cheddar.
At Christmas we only sell Golden Promise turkeys. The turkeys are Bronze Free Range and are supplied by a turkey farm in Appledore just a few miles from Rye.
We make all of our sausages and burgers by hand. There are 13 varieties to choose from, which have won awards over the years, including Gluten Free for those on a special diet. Our sausages have been known to travel far and wide with our customers coming back year after year for the holidays. Many of the hotels and guest houses in Rye have our sausages on their breakfast and lunch menus.
